I used this honey flapjack recipe and I think it worked really well, see below and let me know what you think.
400g of porridge oats |
200g demerara sugar |
200g of butter (I used dairy free) |
200g of honey from Calcott Hall (tip on how to measure this below) |
All the ingredients together |
To weigh out the honey, weigh it first in the jar |
Put the jar in a bowl of boiling water for 30 seconds |
Pour out the honey |
Weigh the jar again and work out how much you have used. Repeat till you have 200g |
Put the honey, sugar and "butter" in a pan and apply heat slowly |
Stir occasionally |
Don't turn the heat up to fast or it may burn |
When the butter is melted and the sugar dissolved, turn off the heat |
Grease a baking tray and add some grease proof paper |
Mix the outs into the sugar, honey and "butter" |
Add the oats a bit at a time |
Keep stirring till all the oats are coated |
Transfer the mix to the baking tray and smooth with a spatula or spoon |
When levelled put it in the oven, gas mark 4 for 15-20 minutes |
Remove from oven when golden brown. Leave to cool then cut into portions |
